Miami, FL – April 14, 2025 – Kaseya, the leading global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, announced today that Jim Lippie will step into the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO).

As CPO, Lippie will help set the company’s innovation agenda and product strategy and lead development for the Kaseya 365 platform. He will lead a team of more than 1,000 product and development professionals to extend Kaseya’s leadership in the market.

“Jim has been an admired leader in the market and a proven industry leader with an eye for innovation,” said Kevin Thompson, Kaseya board member. “He has the trust and respect of our customers and is the right leader as Kaseya accelerates innovation in the Kaseya 365 platform.”

Lippie recently re-joined Kaseya following the acquisition of SaaS Alerts, the industry’s first Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) solution purpose-built for MSPs, a company he co-founded and led as CEO. With over 20 years in the managed service provider (MSP) ecosystem, he brings a unique perspective to the role having led multiple cloud software companies aimed at serving MSPs and having previously served as the CEO of Thrive Networks, a Boston-based MSP that experienced exponential growth during his tenure.

“It’s an honor to lead the product vision for the Kaseya community,” said Lippie. “Twenty years ago, I began my journey with Kaseya as one of their customers – and while the company has grown by leaps and bounds since that time, I intend to look at everything we do through that same customer lens as we usher in the next generation of Kaseya innovations.”

In-region data center storage now offered to support Microsoft 365 backups

Miami, FL – March 31, 2025Kaseya, the leading global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, announced today new data center regional support in South Africa for Microsoft 365. Through this data center, Kaseya also supports endpoint backup, with business continuity and disaster recovery to soon be offered. The move comes amidst increasing demand from South African customers and partners in the region.

South African businesses must adhere to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Further regulation introduced in 2024 – the National Policy on Data and Cloud – also enforces stricter data security and data sovereignty controls.

With data centers in-region, customers can rely on faster backups, which improves their recovery time objective (RTO). It also makes it easier to ship hard drives in and out of the data center in cases where large amounts of data need to be transported.

“Our partners asked for this, and we responded,” said Dermot McCann, Executive Vice President and General Manager for EMEA at Kaseya. “An in-region data center enables us to better serve our customers, especially with growing compliance demands.”

“With the rapid digital transformation in Africa, businesses face rising concerns regarding data security, latency, and regulatory compliance,” said Regardt Joubert, Group Chief Executive Officer at Burika Group, an MSP out of Polokwane. “Kaseya’s investment in a South African data center provides local businesses with enhanced data sovereignty, ensuring compliance with Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other global data regulations. The center also reduces dependence on international infrastructure, improving uptime, performance and reliability for enterprises across industries.”

Kaseya plans to further invest in its data center capabilities globally with the projected addition of 15 new data centers in 2025.

]]>
Miami, FL – February 6, 2025Kaseya, the leading global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, released today The State of Backup and Recovery Report 2025: Navigating the Future of Data Protection. The survey of over 3,000 IT professionals worldwide reveals the importance of data protection and the increased need for robust backup and recovery strategies to address current and future challenges. While 40% felt confident in their systems, 33% have reported nightmares – and many are less prepared than they believe.

“In today’s cyber landscape, it’s hard to be confident about any systems you’re using,” said Frank DeBenedetto, GTM General Manager, MSP Suite, Kaseya. “So much is out of your control, it’s not surprising that nearly a third of IT professionals have had nightmares about their backup. From human error to natural disasters to ransomware attacks, the only way to know your systems work is to test them repeatedly.”

Security and Recovery

With only 10% of businesses reporting zero outages last year, many businesses tested their backups in a trial by fire – if nothing else. Only 15% test their backups daily with another 25% testing weekly. Disaster recovery tests were given even less attention, with only 11% testing daily and 20% testing weekly. And 12% of those surveyed admitted they tested their disaster recovery on an ad hoc basis or not at all.

Looking at recovery times, 60% of respondents believed they could recover in under a day; however, only 35% could do so in reality. Approximately 40% of respondents can recover lost SaaS data in hours, with others requiring days or weeks (35%). More concerning, 8% were unsure of their recovery time and 2% didn’t believe they could recover any lost SaaS data. An alarming 40% of respondents would need days or weeks to recover data from a public cloud and 8% do not back up their public cloud data at all.

Challenges

More than half of the businesses surveyed plan to switch their primary backup solution but are finding major challenges in trying to do so. Price is one of the leading challenges. With IT budgets tightening, businesses need to find a way to balance cost efficiency while maintaining a robust data protection strategy. Optimizing cloud costs emerged as the greatest challenge for businesses looking to move workloads to the cloud with 15% having difficulty finding the right cloud service provider for their business.

Having multiple backup tools created inefficiencies for 10% of businesses and over half of those surveyed spent more than 2 hours a day monitoring, managing and troubleshooting backups. When looking at their current infrastructure, 10% of businesses said alerting and reporting is a challenge because their backup systems don’t have actionable insights and deep enough visibility.

Best Practices

As businesses look to switch their backup solutions in today’s complex hybrid IT environment, they must ensure they’re taking every consideration to protect their data, as well as their client and consumers’ data. By leveraging advanced technologies, like cloud-native solutions and automated testing tools, businesses can save time and effort on time consuming tasks. With the right vendor, they can become even more efficient thanks to integrated solutions and premium support.

Most importantly, an apex backup infrastructure should have a strategic plan in place that plans for scalability and clearly defines backup policies. The plan will help ensure enhanced security of backup systems by implementing multilayered security measures and regularly auditing systems to ensure they’re protected against evolving threats.

Miami, FL – January 9, 2025 – Kaseya, the leading global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, today announced CEO Fred Voccola will step up into the role of Vice Chairman. Voccola will focus on long-term innovation and strategy while helping the board hire a new CEO to run day-to-day operations as Kaseya enters its next phase of growth and lays the foundation for a potential public offering.

In 10 years under Voccola’s leadership, Kaseya has achieved remarkable growth, solidifying its position as the clear market leader for small business IT and security. Since 2015 the company has grown from a single-product provider into a comprehensive platform with over $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR).

Kaseya’s mission to deliver a purpose-built, fully integrated platform for multi-functional IT professionals culminated in the 2024 launch of Kaseya 365. This unified subscription service offers the essential tools IT professionals need in a complete and cost-effective package. In the last 12 months the company also strengthened its industry-leading team with the additions of new executives in the roles of CFO, CMO and CHRO, along with elevating several key internal leaders.

“With Kaseya coming off the strongest quarter and year in our history, now is the right time for me to step up into the role of Vice Chairman and hand over operating responsibilities to a new CEO,” said Voccola. “It has been the honor of my professional life to lead Kaseya and work alongside the talented team that has driven our success.”

“Kaseya’s growth and transformation has been extraordinary,” said Mike Triplett, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “Fred’s transition to Vice Chairman will enable him to focus on the long-range innovation and go-to-market strategies that will ensure Kaseya’s long-term success and prepare the company for a potential IPO.”

Kevin Thompson, current Kaseya board member, will play a key role in the transition, working closely with Voccola to identify the company’s next CEO. Thompson said,

“Kaseya’s future is incredibly bright, and I’m excited to work with Fred and the board to identify a new leader who will guide the company through this transformative period.”

Kaseya’s State of MSP Shows What Makes a Top-Performing MSP https://www.kaseya.com/press-release/kaseyas-state-of-msp-shows-what-makes-a-top-performing-msp/ Mon, 06 Jan 2025 10:34:26 +0000 https://www.kaseya.com/?post_type=press-release&p=22090 With profitability a major focus, MSPs are optimistic about growing their businesses in 2025.

The post Kaseya’s State of MSP Shows What Makes a Top-Performing MSP appeared first on Kaseya.

]]>
Miami, FL – January 7, 2025Kaseya, the leading global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, released today its 2025 State of the MSP Industry Look Ahead: Trends, Growth and Strategies for Success. MSPs reported profitability as a top focus in 2025 and are optimistic about their future growth. The report observes trends among top-earning MSPs that can be emulated by those looking for competitive advantages in the new year. The results of the survey are featured in the State of the MSP Industry 2025 Look Ahead: Trends, Growth and Strategies for Success.

“Small and medium-sized businesses are becoming more and more tech savvy – and MSPs are reaping the rewards,” said Gary Pica, Founder, TruMethods, a Kaseya Company. “They’re seeing revenue growth and want to continue that momentum long into the future. MSPs are an essential service and they’re making the right moves to build sustainable, high-margin businesses. By streamlining their operations and utilizing automation, MSPs are preparing to capitalize on big opportunities in 2025.”

Profitability

Looking ahead to 2025, 91% of MSPs cited profitability as a priority. When asked their concerns, new customer acquisition (43%), revenue growth (37%) and profitability (36%) topped the list. These results show that MSPs are shifting their focus toward growing their businesses to help them excel financially this year. This is a good time for them to take a look at their pricing structures, as well as their spending, to ensure they’re not undercharging, which hinders their ability to deliver exceptional results to their clients.

Growth and Competition

Despite their concerns about profitability, 64% of MSPs reported revenue increases last year and 67% of them expect further growth over the next three years. While the landscape remains competitive, MSPs are finding ways to stand out in the crowd. Smaller MSPs are often able to find success over larger ones by leveraging their niche expertise. Further, 83% of MSPs offer co-managed services, helping internal IT teams with business continuity and disaster recovery (38%), cloud-based infrastructure design and management (37%) and data backup & protection (36%). Client apathy toward cyber-risks as a barrier to offering cybersecurity solutions rose from 7th last year to 1st this year – with nearly half of respondents citing it as a concern.

“It can be difficult to get small businesses to understand the importance of investing in security when they often don’t see themselves as a target,” said Pica. “While educating clients is important, it’s pivotal for MSPs to invest in platforms and tools that allow their customers to be better protected without breaking the bank.”

The Opportunity and Threat of AI

In the drive for increased growth and profitability, MSPs can utilize AI-driven tools that increase efficiency by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Unfortunately, AI is a double-edged sword that both enables and threatens businesses. More than two-thirds of MSPs saw an increase in AI-driven attacks in the last 12 months. In 2024, more MSPs were affected by AI-supported attacks (32%) than supply chain attacks (29%) or endpoint threats (29%). This shouldn’t scare technicians away from AI – ironically, the best soldier in the battle against AI is AI itself. Top-earning MSPs are leveraging AI-driven security tools to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Lessons from Top Earners

The survey analyzes what sets MSPs making $10 million or more a year apart and offers guidance to smaller MSPs who want to grow. First and foremost, they are proactive in adopting new technologies and delivering remarkable service. More than half of the top earners have migrated their client workloads to the cloud and a whopping 97% offer managed security services. These high earners are focused on smart growth and always expand their services in alignment with their clients’ needs and leverage automation to improve their efficiency.

Miami, FL – November 19, 2024Kaseya, the leading global provider of AI-powered cybersecurity and IT management software, unveiled exciting new initiatives around its Backup Suite. The announcements include free hardware for Datto SIRIS, the launch of the Backup Concierge Program and general availability of Next Gen Endpoint Backup.

“These programs demonstrate Kaseya’s continued commitment to MSP profitability, and build on existing initiatives, such as FLEXspend for Backup,” said Jerome Wendt, CEO and principal analyst, DCIG, LLC. “With that specific program, Kaseya positions customers to move their data protection spend as data moves – from SIRIS appliances to the cloud, SaaS and anywhere in-between. Kaseya has recently made significant strides to optimize its backup solutions to meet the rapidly changing backup and recovery demands of customers so MSPs may service them according to their individual needs.”

MSPs can now afford to profitably provide the best disaster restoration in the industry to all their clients. Announced at DattoCon Miami, the company introduced free hardware for its flagship SIRIS appliances. Datto SIRIS S5-X and S5-X4 appliances are now available with free hardware for any term, even month-to-month. This allows MSPs to standardize their backup portfolio to increase efficiency while eliminating risk. According to one G2 review, “The Datto SIRIS line is the best BCDR solution on the market. When the client understands the true cost of downtime, they quickly understand the value that the Datto SIRIS line brings to their company,” according to Tim C., President/CEO, TS Conard, Inc. Technology Solutions. For more information, click here.

“We believe that EVERY customer deserves Datto,” said Frank DeBenedetto, general manager, MSP Suite, Kaseya. “With free hardware for SIRIS, MSPs can now profitably protect ALL their customers.”

Kaseya has invested $10 million in its new Backup Concierge Program, which is free for Kaseya Datto backup customers. Backup is the last line of defense and one of the most critical tools for MSPs, but it also represents one of its largest costs and highest risks. With this purpose-built program, MSPs can ensure they are optimizing their profitability and supporting technical needs throughout the data protection journey for new and existing clients.

“This program ensures that MSPs’ customers and all their backup needs are aligned on the same backup platform,” said Johan Jongsma, general manager, Backup, Kaseya. “It features a dedicated backup solution architect, trained to help you close more deals, and also includes marketing assistance with pricing, packaging and quoting.”

Next Gen Endpoint Backup has also expanded to offer better control, more flexibility and greater restore options – and still at a price point which makes it more profitable than any competitive solution on the market. The solution is tailored for MSPs with centralized, policy-

based management; smart scheduling with customer controls (i.e. business hours); full control over throttling, data regions and selective backup configurations (inclusions/exclusions); and is fully integrated with popular MSP solutions like IT Glue, PSAs, RMMs and more.
